I have been involved with cheerleading since 1994 at the elementary level (Centennial School), high school level (Winston Knoll Collegiate), university level (University of Regina), and at the professional level (Rider Cheer Team). I have competed as a base and a flyer. I have experience coaching at the elementary and high school levels. I also have 8 years of dance experience in jazz, ballet, and baton. I have judged for several years now. I strive to continually improve the SCA's operations, resources, and services and hope that we can help out athletes, coaches, and advisors through guidance, leadership, and communication. Some of my larger goals include the recognition of cheerleading in large sports organizations and the implementation of a coaching certification program provincially and nationally.

I was a cheerleader at O'Neill Highschool for four years and then moved on to the Roughrider Trailblazers Team where I cheered for five years (Go Riders!). I was on the U of R cheer team for the first year that it existed and I have enjoyed watching the team grow over the past several years. I have coached highschool cheerelading for eight years, most recently at LeBoldus. Two years ago I worked with a few dedicated people to initiate and incorporate the Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association. I look forward to many more years of cheerleading involvement and I am very proud of how far stunt and pom have come in our province over the past twelve years!

Lindsey is very excited to join the SCA Executive team for 2009/2010! She has been involved with the Saskatchewan cheer and pom scene since 2002. Most recently, she has been involved with Saskatchewan cheerleading as a member of the 2007 and 2008 editions of the Rider Cheer Team. Lindsey is also currently a cheerleading coach at Winston Knoll. She has an extensive background in competitive dance, and has completed numerous vocational dance exams administered by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the Canadian Dance Teachers' Association (CDTA), and the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT). During the past year, Lindsey has had the pleasure of using her dance experience to choreograph several routines for the 2008 and 2009 Rider Cheer Teams. As a member of this year's SCA Executive, Lindsey hopes to promote the athleticism of cheerleading within Saskatchewan -- cheerleading IS a sport!! -- and would like to see even bigger and better clinics, conferences, and other opportunities for cheerleaders and their coaches to learn, grow, and show their spirit!
