I have been involved in the cheerleading community for the past 12 years. I began my cheerleading career at Assiniboia Composite High school in Assiniboia, SK, and then continued as an athlete for the University of Regina for 3 years. Upon completion of my B.A. I moved to Saskatoon and continued cheerleading in Regina with the 620 CKRM Rider Cheerleading Team while completing my B. Comm. at the University of Saskatchewan, making the trek down for the next 3 seasons. In addition to my cheer experience I have 17 years dance experience having completed advanced certificates in ADAPT Jazz and Tap, Associate Teachers certificate in CDTA Tap, and Advanced I in RAD Ballet. I have spent the past 7 years coaching various teams depending on my location (Winston Knoll, Bedford Road, Prairie Fire Cheerleading) and am proud to most recently have one provincial championship team and a 2nd place finish at UPA Nationals in Anaheim, CA. This will be my first year on the SCA executive, although I have been a certified judge for the past 6 years; I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my love of cheer in a new capacity.

I have been involved with cheerleading since 1994 in many different capacities at many different levels - as an athlete, coach, manager, advisor, and judge. I strive to continually improve the SCA's operations, resources, technology and services and hope that we can help out athletes, coaches, and advisors through guidance, leadership, and communication. Some of my larger goals include the recognition of cheerleading in large sports organizations, the formation of a national governing body and the implementation of a coaching certification program provincially and nationally.

I began cheering in 2002 at Martensville High School and then continued at the University of Saskatchewan while obtaining my degree in electrical engineering. When my course load became too heavy to continue cheering I remained active in the community by judging SCA competitions and spent part of one season coaching ICE Adult Open team to prepare for a competition in Minneapolis. Since I've taken a step back from the cheerleading world I've continued to be active by teaching fitness classes including Group Power, Group Step, and Zumba! It's clear that I just can't stay away from the wonderful world that is cheer and am very excited for my first year on the SCA Executive.

This is my fourth year as a member of the SCA Executive - two as the Secretary, one as the Events Director, and now this year as the Judging Director. Part of my duties this year will be heading the Coaches' Certification, the Judges' Certification and the SCA Cheer Clinics, which are offered with funding support from Sask Sport. I have also been a judge for over five years with the SCA, and will continue this support in the upcoming cheerleading season. I currently on the 620 CKRM Rider Cheerleading Team, making this my 5th year with them. Prior to this, I was a cheerleader with the University of Regina Cheerleading Team for four years, as well as a member of the LeBoldus pom team for its first two years. Furthering this sport in Saskatchewan is very important to me, and I hope to be able to help that happen again this year.
